1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a travel Labor & Delivery position at a Critical Access Hospital in Central Minnesota, requiring C-section experience and the ability to float to Med/Surg. Details Acute care setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) in Central Minnesota Primary unit is Labor & Delivery with a 4-bed unit and 2 overflow beds, averaging 8-15 births per month Must also cover postpartum, nursery, and mother-baby couplet care in addition to L&D Required to float to the Medical/Surgical unit and take patient assignments of 3-4 patients (up to 5) on night shifts Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labor; 1:3-4 for triage 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) Every 3rd weekend required (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), or work every weekend Every 3rd holiday required, with potential for additional holidays based on facility needs
EMR:
Epic Requirements Active MN RN license required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring C-section experience required — must be comfortable with patient prep and post-delivery newborn care (scrub-in assist not required) Experience with postpartum, nursery, and mother-baby couplet care required Ability to float to Med/Surg and manage a general medical/surgical patient assignment BSN not required Additional Information Responsibilities include active labor management, triage, postpartum care, newborn nursery, and mother-baby couplet care, as well as Med/Surg patient assignments when census requires Unit-specific orientation is 2-3 shifts depending on comfort level Scrubs must be clean, in good condition, and free of tears — any color or pattern is acceptable No on-call requirements Census fluctuations may result in occasional shift cancellations
