Job Description

Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for an RN at the Fairview Maple Grove Cancer Clinic. This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period), benefits-eligible opening on day shift, Monday - Friday 8AM to 4:30PM, no weekends or call. This role provides professional, quality, compassionate service to patients. Carries out assigned nursing tasks and medical oncology orders as delegated by medical oncologists to support patient care. Serves as a positive role model to clinical support staff. Provides knowledgeable explanations of medical oncology treatments and non-urgent side effects/symptom management. Responsibilities Provides care appropriate to adult patients with cancer and hematological disorders. Assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interprets appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed as described. Assists with procedures and assessing lab values as needed and directed by providers. Processes and documents prescription refill requests promptly and accurately. Uses appropriate systems to obtain patient information or assist with scheduling. Assists with scheduling referrals as directed by the provider. Releases patient information from the electronic medical record to the appropriate recipient according to HealthEast policy. Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned. Required Qualifications 1 year clinical experience Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Upon Hire MN Registered Nurse (RN) License within 1-1/2 Yrs Oncology Certified Nurse OCN required within 18 months within 1-1/2 Yrs Preferred Qualifications
