A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Communicates with supervisor regarding Nursing Team Support responsibilities. Assists Nursing Staff with non-nursing personal care as assigned. Greets and assists residents as they participate in dining services, Wellness Services and other Sister resident activities. Assists with housekeeping/ bed-making tasks as assigned. Assists with escorting residents to and from meals, prayers, hair care, and related services as assigned. Answers call lights promptly as needed reporting resident needs to licensed and registered nursing staff. Reports incidents and resident concerns to the supervisor immediately. Protects Sister resident information according to policies and procedures and state and federal law. Performs all duties according to timelines and prioritizes work accordingly. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, and other required meetings. Serves as a positive role model for the organization by utilizing effective communication and encouraging teamwork through collaborative and cooperative interactions with all employees, departments and administration. Follows and supports all policies and procedures as established by the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict. Non-Essential Job Duties Improves self in any way possible to enhance job performance. Supports/promotes the Order, its Mission, Values, programs and achievements to the public and other employees. Identifies organizational problems and opportunities for improvement and brings solutions and suggestions to management's attention. Functions as a team member by assisting, supporting, and encouraging other employees in any way possible. Performs readily other job duties as assigned.
