A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

As a RN in our General Resource Team (Float Pool), you will assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice at Lakeview Hospital; to provide work direction for and oversight of the nursing care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel; to perform and document functions such as carrying out the practitioner orders; to assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures; to provide a safe and therapeutic environment; to coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, their family, health professionals and others; to perform related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
0.70 Evening Shift. Every other weekend rotation.
Required Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing, or equivalent. Licensed as an RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota Boarder State Registry Registered nurses re-entering the nursing field, who have not completed 520 hours of nursing practice in the past four (4) years must successfully complete a recognized refresher course to qualify for employment. Written information of certification validating successful completion of a refresher course must be provided before employment. Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider) NRP certification within 6 months of start date. STABLE certification within 1 year of start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Nursing Associate Degree prepared nurses enrolled in Baccalaureate in Nursing program Specialty Certification in the RN's area of expertise (e.g. CCRN, PCCN, CNOR, CPAN, CAPA, etc)
