Job Description

Citizens Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our busy Pediatric Walk-In Clinic. This provider will care for infants, children, and adolescents with acute illnesses and minor injuries while improving same-day access, therefore, reducing unnecessary emergency department visits. Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner evaluates, diagnoses, and treats pediatric patients with same-day and acute needs. The provider works closely with physicians, nurses, and medical assistants, to provide safe, timely, and pediatric care. This is a Full-Time Role Monday-Friday 8 am - 6 pm and two Saturdays per month 8 am to noon. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and treat common pediatric illnesses and minor injuries. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests and imaging. Prescribe medications using evidence-based pediatric guidelines. Perform approved minor procedures based on training and privileges. Recognize patients requiring physician consultation or a higher level of care. Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up recommendations. Complete documentation and test-result follow-up promptly. Support efficient patient flow during high-volume periods. Participate in quality, safety, and patient-experience initiatives. Provide extended-hour and Saturday coverage as scheduled. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Current APRN license and national board certification Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification preferred Family Nurse Practitioner candidates considered with strong pediatric experience Current BLS certification; PALS required or obtained within the designated timeframe Eligibility for credentialing and prescriptive authority Pediatric, urgent care, emergency, or walk-in experience preferred Measures of Success Safe, evidence-based pediatric care Appropriate testing, prescribing, and escalation decisions Timely documentation and follow-up Efficient patient throughput Positive patient and caregiver experience Dependable attendance and schedule coverage Strong teamwork and communication Benefits include: Competitive hourly wage Annual merit increases Full suite of insurance benefits available for family Malpractice Insurance Annual CME allowance with paid CME time available too
