Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Obstetrics Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health through vital signs, fetal heart rate monitoring, and physical examinations using advanced EMR/EHR systems. Assist with labor and delivery processes, including performing sterile procedures, suturing, and neonatal resuscitation procedures as needed. Administer medications safely, including pain management and IV infusions, following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on childbirth options, postpartum care, breastfeeding support, and newborn care to promote informed decision-making. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans aligned with NCQA standards. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), ensuring compliance with hospital policies. Respond promptly to emergencies such as obstetric complications or trauma cases within a Level I or Level II trauma center environment. Qualifications Valid RN license with obstetrics certification preferred; experience working in labor & delivery or neonatal intensive care units (NICU) highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in medical-surgical nursing, patient care assessments, and emergency response procedures. Knowledge of advanced clinical skills such as ultrasound assistance, catheterization, specimen collection/processing, and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience documenting complex patient interactions accurately. Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or emergency medicine is advantageous; familiarity with trauma medicine and infectious disease care is a plus. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to pregnancy and neonatal physiology; ability to perform physical examinations confidently.
