Sign-On Bonus Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) takes a leadership role serving as a role model in the delivery of exceptional nursing care to the patients of ESH. The duties of the registered nurse (RN) include nursing assessments and plans of care, utilization of the nursing process throughout care delivery, direction, and implementation of plans of care to reach effective long range patient goals and discharge planning, and to serve as a liaison to ancillary departments to coordinate and collaborate the delivery of safe effective patient care. Duties may include but are not limited to the following.
Schedule:
6:45p
  • 7:15a, 3 days per week
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates the ability to continually assess and anticipate changes in the patient's condition and make decisions accordingly.
  • Demonstrates ability to recognize dysrhythmias and activate the Rapid Response Team (RRT) or initiate a Code Blue.
  • Consistently demonstrates ability to triage patients and prioritize care based on need.
  • Maintains current knowledge of specialized procedures performed in the Emergency Department such as: external pacing, chest tube insertion, TPA protocol, conscious sedation and proper reporting of communicable disease, domestic assaults, and suspected/confirmed cases of abuse
  • Maintains current knowledge of specialized procedures performed on the Med/Surg such as: drip management, chest tube interventions, and drain/surgical care.
  • Works to maintain and enhance the standard of care by participating and being active in staff meetings, committees, special projects, team conferences and in services.
  • Facilitates communication within the health care team by giving and receiving a shift report that is timely and provides pertinent information on patient status.
  • Performs nursing procedures safely and effectively within his/her scope of training and according to the standards set forth in the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Adheres to all written policies and procedures, regulatory and accrediting standards.
  • Documents per hospital policy all nursing care, treatments, procedures, patient/family responses to care, medications administered, and teaching performed.
  • Assigns direct care tasks to other team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develops and initiates plan of care including the ability to prioritize care needs and involve patient and family in care. Revises and updates the plan of care based on ongoing needs.
  • Performs physical and psychosocial assessments upon admission, every shift, and any time thereafter based on patient status with emphasis on safety issues, self-care, education, discharge planning needs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Missouri.
  • Maintain CPR and BLS.
  • Maintain minimum of 12 CEUs per year.
  • Complete annual CareLearning and compliance courses.
