A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Job Summary Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to ensure optimal care and comfort. Performs duties within the scope of nursing practice, adhering to institutional guidelines, professional ethics, and regulatory requirements. Acts in alignment with the organization's mission, values, and standards.
Key Duties:
Works in various departments such as Emergency, Med/Surg, ICU, Labor & Delivery, and Operating Room. Uses unit-specific equipment and follows safety protocols. Engages in physical tasks including lifting, bending, and patient handling, with exposure to blood and body fluids.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's, Diploma, or BSN). Eligibility to take the nursing licensure exam. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification or completion within probation. Experience is not required.
Skills and Conditions:
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform physical tasks. Works with a team in a caring, compassionate environment. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in high-risk exposure settings.
