Job Description

Serve your community through a career in public health. The mission of the Dent County Health Center is to improve and protect the health of Dent County residents. To support that mission, the Health Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide clinical and preventive health services to individuals and families in our community. Minimum Qualifications Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Missouri Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to accurately document patient care in an electronic health record Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Dependability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Ability to provide respectful, confidential, and nonjudgmental services to individuals from diverse backgrounds Public health, community health, immunization, family planning, or outpatient clinical experience is preferred but not required. Primary Responsibilities Administer immunizations to children and adults Maintain vaccine inventory and comply with vaccine storage, handling, and documentation requirements Collect blood, urine, and other laboratory specimens Perform CLIA-waived point-of-care laboratory testing and required quality-control activities Provide STI testing, patient education, treatment administration under provider or standing orders, and appropriate follow-up Perform tuberculosis screening and testing Conduct lead screening and provide education to patients and families Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and basic nursing assessments Provide patient education regarding preventive health services and available community resources Accurately document services in the electronic health record and applicable public health reporting systems Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with infection-control and clinical safety requirements Assist with community clinics, outreach activities, and other public health services as assigned Successful applicants must demonstrate conduct consistent with the Health Center's core values: Resilient passion Empathetic altruism Motivating positivity Honesty and integrity Nonjudgmentality and nondiscrimination Humility Benefits Benefits for eligible full-time employees include: Vacation leave accruing at an estimated 120 hours annually Sick leave accruing at up to 120 hours annually 13 recognized paid holidays, including the Friday following Thanksgiving Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Missouri LAGERS retirement Regular weekday schedule Additional information about the Dent County Health Center is available at www.dentcountyhealthcenter.com.
