Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse Substitute to provide essential health services within our educational community. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between students, staff, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring that health needs are met promptly and effectively. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student well-being while working within a dynamic educational setting. Responsibilities Assess and respond to student health concerns, providing first aid and emergency care as needed Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols and state regulations Maintain accurate medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with HIPAA and health regulations Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and healthcare providers regarding student health status and care plans Manage immunization records and ensure compliance with vaccination requirements for school attendance Collaborate with school staff to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic or acute conditions Operate medical equipment such as AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and monitor emergency response procedures during medical crises Experience Prior experience working in school clinics or pediatric healthcare settings is highly preferred but not necessary Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations including students of various ages and their families while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations LPN required This role is perfect for licensed nurses eager to apply their skills in a vibrant school environment while making a positive difference in students' lives.
