Registered Nurse (RN)-Emergency Room

Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center (NWMRMC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER) to join our emergency services team. The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment to patients experiencing a wide range of urgent and life-threatening conditions. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to respond effectively during emergent situations while maintaining a patient-centered approach to care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, and prioritization of care for emergency patients Provide direct nursing care for patients with acute illness, injury, and trauma Initiate and monitor treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and advanced practice providers Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions as prescribed Monitor patient condition and respond quickly to changes in clinical status Operate and monitor emergency medical equipment including cardiac monitors and defibrillators Assist with emergency procedures such as intubation, trauma response, and resuscitation Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and discharge instructions Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards Collaborate with physicians, nurses, EMS personnel, and interdisciplinary teams Support hospital emergency preparedness and response protocols Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required)

Licensure/Certifications:

Current Mississippi Registered Nurse license or Compact State license Current BLS Certification required

ACLS, PALS

certified within six months of hire TNCC within one year of hire

Experience:

One (1) or more years of emergency or acute care nursing experience preferred. Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills required.
