Job Description

Occupational Health Center is seeking registered nurses to join our PRN team. This role is a contract position in Pascagoula, MS. Nurses may work as a backup or independently. Available shifts could include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Training must take place on day shifts. Overview Our nurses in the occupational health environment lead the implementation and delivery of all appropriate occupational health programs and services that support the health and wellness strategy. Primary responsibilities for this position include injury/illness assessment, triage treatment and continuity of care. In addition, conducting health surveillance programs and providing health education are essential components of this position. Assisting with case management and facilitating return to work may also be required. Our team collaborates with facility Human Resources and Safety, Health and Environmental to ensure compliance with regulatory programs such as OSHA, ADA, HIPAA and FMLA .
Principal Accountabilities:
Injury and illness evaluation, treatment and collaboration with medical providers to deliver the best care possible Manage and conduct all medical surveillance and medical clearance programs for site Maintain all medical information per occupational, legal, HIPAA and ethical guidelines Work collaboratively with Safety, Health and Environmental to maintain OSHA reporting and recording standards Work with HR and site management to maintain a healthy and safe workforce according to ADA, OSHA, HIPAA, and FMLA guidelines as well as Drug & Alcohol standards Assist onsite facility Emergency Response Team Assist in first line treatment (within scope of practice) with work related or non-work related injuries and illnesses Assist in accident investigation from medical perspective if requested Vaccinations as appropriate for site
Knowledge and Skills:
BSN or BS with 3-5 years occupational health experience preferred Strong clinical assessment skills and comfortable working autonomously CPR/AED certified NIOSH approved Spirometry course completion preferred CAOHC certification preferred (can be obtained) Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills required Knowledge of
EAP, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Presentation and consultation skills Proficient computer skills Registered Nurse with unrestricted Mississippi license required Occupational Health Certification a plus
Experience:
Occupational health experience preferred Emergency and trauma experience required Minimum 2 years medical experience required
License/Certification:
BLS Certification (Required) Mississippi RN (Required) AED Certification (Required)
