Summary :
The Registered Nurse Resident works collaboratively with the health care team to provide safe, patient-centered care within the scope of the RN license and under the guidance of an RN Preceptor. Bozeman Health is proud to invest in the future of our nurses through our new graduate nurse residency program, designed to give new graduate nurses the opportunity to explore and develop in their new role as a professional nurse. Through immersive clinical preceptorship, classroom-based professional development, skills and simulation experiences, mentoring, and varied clinical exposure, the program provides structured support to help new nurses build confidence and advance from novice toward expert practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse) Graduation from an accredited school of nursing within the last twelve (12) months Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Competence in and a willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN, BAN).
Essential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Provides safe, patient-centered nursing care under the guidance of an RN Preceptor and in accordance with the RN scope of practice, organizational policies, and applicable laws and regulations. Assesses patient conditions and needs, establishes outcomes, implements appropriate nursing interventions, and evaluates progress using critical thinking and clinical judgment. Collaborates and communicates effectively with patients, families, caregivers, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care and support the patient experience. Administers medications accurately and documents patient care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Participates in required residency program activities, including didactic and Transition to Practice classes, clinical learning experiences, mentoring, and professional development. Participates in scheduled check-ins with the unit/department manager and other clinical leadership throughout the residency program. Promotes a safe, respectful, and healing environment while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and organizational standards. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
