JOB SUMMARY

The radiology nurse assists in a variety of procedures caring for patients. Modalities covered by the radiology nurse include interventional radiology, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, MRI, echocardiography, and mammography. The radiology nurse assists the radiologist in providing sedation for some procedures done in Imaging. Collaborate with ancillary nursing staff and other personnel to execute a plan of care appropriate to the needs of the patient. Patient acuity varies from stable to ICU level of care patients making critical care experience preferred.

PRN (as needed) 6:00am- 3:00pm

Mon-Thurs Compensation:

$42.66/hour + DOE PRN Differential

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains appropriate departmental skills/knowledge and application of relevant and commonly used equipment, pharmacology, and laboratory. Facilitate patient education, and discharge instructions. Assesses patient's condition and nursing needs. Upon completion of all nursing interventions, documents accurately and thoroughly in the appropriate area of the patient record in accordance with organizational policy. Reports changes in patient condition or pertinent observations to the appropriate physician, radiologist, and other healthcare team personnel. Responsible for administering minimal to moderate sedation. Responsible for interpreting cardiac rhythms. Review patients' history, screen allergies, review current medications. Ability to initiate and titrate IV medications. Responsible for completing preprocedural checklist, to ensure safe medication practices and understand medication class routes, dosages, and effects. Utilizes a holistic approach and evidence-based nursing practices. Respond to emergencies and adverse events and initiates emergency measures appropriately. Participate in quality and safety monitoring and performance improvements. Attend all mandatory in-service training. Completes all annual educational competencies required. Maintains current

BLS, ACLS, PALS

certification. Participate in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment. Accepts accountability for own actions

QUALIFICATIONS

(Required): Current Montana R.N. license Current BLS certification

ACLS, PALS

certification within one year of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Critical care, conscious sedation, interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine
