1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a NC or compact RN license. Details 16-bed Emergency Department in a 109-licensed-bed hospital with no trauma designation Facility is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and is not a teaching hospital Treats pediatric and adult patients with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled DM, and minor trauma RN to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700) at 36 hours per week Weekend rotation required every other weekend No on-call requirements Floating required within Region 1, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors Support staff includes CNA, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT, 24/7 hospitalist, and ED physician team Bedside and central telemetry monitoring available Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and
CPI TNCC
certification preferred General ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, vent management, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and ESI assessments Epic EMR experience required Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Additional Information Provide emergency care to a mixed pediatric and adult patient population with a wide range of acute diagnoses Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any unmet contracted hours added to the end of the assignment Navy scrub color required Free parking available Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position First-time travelers not preferred but will be considered Candidates must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position there
