The Clinical Practice Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) provides exceptional care and support across various clinical settings. Working under minimal supervision, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality specialty patient care and supports the strategic success of healthcare initiatives for that service line. Specialty Care is office based only and includes the following: Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and Endocrinology as well as Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN only, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, APPs in Community Care Clinic, Wound Care and Patient Care Clinic settings.
Essential Job Function:
Reviews patient needs and conditions to deliver nursing care in assigned clinical settings to ensure that every patient receives the direct and proper care needed. Analyzes patient information, including medical history, diagnostic results, and current condition, to develop individualized nursing care plans. Prepares nursing processes, such as medication administration, management and access of vascular devices and treatments to provide comprehensive and effective patient care. Administers medications and treatments, follows established protocols and guidelines to ensure safe handling of hazardous/non-hazardous medications, to ensure patient and staff safety. Reconciles medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Evaluates patient response to interventions and identifies any additional interventions needed to meet defined goals of care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to ensure effective care planning. Serves as a knowledgeable resource and mentor, providing guidance, education, and support to colleagues and staff members to promote a culture of continuous learning. Required:
Associate degree in nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire.Experience:
Required:
1 year as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization.Licensure/Certification/Listing:
Required:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.Preferred:
