Hour Contract Options Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric general Medical/Surgical patients on a unit with a daily census of approximately 43, maintaining a 1:6 patient ratio. Administer and monitor Heparin drips, perform Wound Vac dressing changes, and manage High Flow Oxygen therapy; occasional short-term BiPap with respiratory support. Document using EPIC, administer medications via PYXIS, and communicate using SBAR methodology. Float to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding areas, as needed. Participate in mandatory monthly unit team meetings; night shift staff attend additional Friday morning sessions following scheduled Wednesday meetings. Be available for on-call assignments and be prepared to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters.

Required Qualifications:

Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission). BLS certification required. Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical RN experience. Must pass EKG testing prior to start. Ability to work every other weekend and a minimum of 2 of 3 major holidays. Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome; a local rate will apply. Preferred Experience /

Skills:

CPI certification preferred. Charge nurse experience preferred, particularly for night shift candidates. Familiarity with EPIC and PYXIS systems.
