Education and Formal Training :

Associates Degree in Nursing required Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure

Unit Description:

6VP is a Progressive Adult ICU unit with 48 beds. Our Care team consists of Registered Nurses, a Clinical Educator, Nursing Assistants, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Dieticians and Occupational and Speech Therapists. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 but may vary. Our Patients include acute Adult and Geriatric patients.

Telemetry Monitoring Respiratory Treatments (Bipap/Cpap/High Flow) Chest tubes/Tracheostomies Administer Critical Drips Diabetic Ketoacidosis Acute Renal Failure Sepsis Post Surgical/Trauma Post Cerebrovascular Accident Pre and Post Cardiac Cath Procedures Post Myocardial Infarction Cardiac Dysrhythmia Requiring Drug Therapy Pre and Post Angioplasty and Stent Placement Pre and Post AICD/Pacemaker placement We treat total body system disorders that may not be included in this list.
