Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic nursing environment providing specialized care to patients in a stepdown unit. This contract opportunity is perfect for Registered Nurses who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity settings and are dedicated to supporting patient recovery following critical illness or surgery.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current, unrestricted RN license Demonstrated clinical experience in a stepdown or progressive care setting Competency in monitoring and managing patients transitioning from intensive care Proficient in the use of medical monitoring equipment and electronic health records Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills ACLS and BLS certifications required
Schedule:
Full-time, rotational shifts, including days, nights, and weekends (as needed)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide continuous, high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients requiring close observation Monitor vital signs, recognize clinical changes, and escalate concerns appropriately Administer medications and treatment according to established protocols Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and case managers Educate patients and families on post-ICU care processes, recovery expectations, and health management Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
