As a Surgical Services RN, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting surgical teams through every stage of procedures. Your expertise in critical care, aseptic technique, and advanced medical procedures will directly impact patient outcomes and recovery. Duties Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment, ensuring all sterile techniques are meticulously followed to prevent infection. Assist surgeons during procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and complex interventions like neuro or cardiac surgeries. Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner. Administer medications including anesthesia agents, IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, and pain management protocols with precision and adherence to safety standards. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing or imaging like sonography or mammography. Manage emergency situations with expertise in airway management, ventilator support, acute pain management, trauma care from Level I or II trauma centers, and critical care transport when necessary. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge planning strategies that include post-operative care instructions and coordination with home & community care providers. Qualifications Valid RN license with current state registration; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred. Demonstrated experience in surgical environments including OR experience or outpatient ambulatory surgery center experience. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with

ICD-10/ICD-9

coding is advantageous. Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterile processing procedures, and infection control standards. Experience working in diverse settings such as hospital medicine, ICU/CCU units, emergency room environments, or specialty areas like ophthalmology or neurotrauma. Ability to perform complex medical procedures including IV insertion/venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, tube feeding management, and ostomy care. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge to support patients of all ages—from neonatal ventilator management to geriatrics with memory or dementia care needs.
