Working in the pediatric PACU at a large, academic medical center with a Level 1 Trauma designation, you'll experience a dynamic, high-acuity environment while expanding your clinical expertise. Schedule:
Travel assignment Shift and hours tailored to department needs
Qualifications & Skills:
Active RN license with at least one year of pediatric critical care nursing experience (two years preferred) Minimum of one prior travel assignment completed BLS and PALS certifications required Proficiency with common ICU drips, post-op monitoring, and telemetry Experience with pediatric surgical patients; flexible to cross-cover adult cases if needed Competence with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Philips monitors Strong sense of teamwork, initiative, and adaptability in an open bay unit
Responsibilities:
Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to a primarily pediatric population across a spectrum of surgical specialties Monitor, assess, and stabilize high-acuity patients using advanced clinical skills Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including anesthesia, dedicated charge RN, and PACU educator Assume occasional care responsibilities for adults as patient needs arise Maintain meticulous electronic records and medication management
