Registered Nurse (RN)
  • New Graduate Residency Program Location:
    Linville, North Carolina | Full-Time | Days 7:00am
  • 7:00pm or Nights 7:00pm

Compensation & Schedule Compensation:
Starting at $34.00/hour, based on education, experience, and internal equity
Shift Differentials:
Available for evenings, nights, and weekends

Days 7:00am

  • 7:00am with rotating weekends and holidays Position Overview The RN Resident provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse while participating in a structured residency program.
This role supports the physical, psychosocial, and restorative needs of patients and reflects UNC Health Appalachian's mission, vision, and values in every interaction. The New Graduate RN Residency Program is designed for nurses seeking additional support as they transition into practice. Through mentorship, skills labs, preceptorship, and potential specialty rotations, residents gain the confidence and experience needed to thrive in their nursing career. RN Residents do not independently perform RN duties requiring licensure until successful completion of the NCLEX and official RN licensure.   • accrual begins day one Paid parental leave Tuition reimbursement & Career Pathways Program Wellness incentives through Love Your Life program Employee discounts (Dollywood, Biltmore, Tweetsie Railroad, and more) Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment What You'll Do as an RN Resident Provide safe, effective patient care under RN supervision Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) Participate in structured education, training, and precepted clinical experiences Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergencies Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork Support a respectful, positive work environment aligned with organizational values Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required) Eligible to sit for NCLEX; RN licensure required prior to independent practice Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at hire
Preferred:
Prior healthcare experience (acute care or clinic setting) Interest in exploring specialty areas through residency rotations Certifications (Within 1 Year of Hire, as Applicable)
