Schedule:
FT Night 7p-7a with weekend and holiday requirements. As a Registered Nurse at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, you'll be trusted to deliver expert, compassionate care on our Medical Surgical Unit. Your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and adaptability will play a vital role in providing safe, high-quality care for a diverse patient population. This 40-bed unit cares for patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including post-cardiac catheterization recovery, stroke, COPD, kidney disease, chest wall (CWall) conditions, and other acute medical diagnoses. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment while building broad clinical experience and making a meaningful impact on the lives of your patients every day. The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.What We're Looking For:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.
Experience:
One year of acute nursing experience required.Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
