Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice. Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing processes, care planning, and clinical assessment. Ability to perform comprehensive resident assessments and develop individualized care plans. Skilled in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy (where permitted), and complex clinical interventions. Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising LPNs, CNAs, and other support staff. Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities, including standards established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Experience with quality improvement initiatives, infection control programs, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems. Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. Commitment to resident-centered care, advocacy, and maintaining resident dignity and safety. Current CPR/BLS certification
