Overview:
Communicates effectively with a wide range of age groups, ethnic, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Demonstrates physical assessment skills. Displays effective organizational skills, with ability to prioritize with accuracy and speed. Illustrates efficient computer skills within service provided. Working Conditions:
Physical:
Participates in creating a safety culture by optimizing safety at all times. Able to access entire facility, lift and transport patients, supplies and equipment. Demonstrates manual dexterity, hearing acuity, and verbal ability. Displays ability for standing for long periods of time, walking, lifting, bending, and stooping for the majority of the workday. Has sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time. Involves exposure to blood/body fluids, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases.
Psychosocial:
Able to deal with frustration and stress appropriately.
Other:
The Pharmacy, Nutrition and Therapeutics Committee and Director of Pharmacy have approved access to medications and related supplies (IV fluids, needles, etc.), which may or may not include access to a secure medication storage area, when such access is necessary to perform the other duties included in this job description.
Responsibilities:
Position Specific Competencies:
In addition to the following essential competencies, other competencies may be required to meet changing organizational needs. 1. Uses appropriate problem solving approach to plan performance of services. 2. Provides services with consideration of the physical, psycho-social, cultural, spiritual and agespecific needs of those served. 3. Demonstrates appropriate use of equipment/supplies. 4. Uses appropriate safety and infection control measures. 5. Teaches/directs/advises/informs others in an appropriate manner under the supervision of the RN/Medical Director. 6. Reports/records information legibly and appropriately and correctly.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position:  Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with a current North Carolina RN license or RN multistate licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact. Three years nursing experience required. Pain management experienced preferred.
Certification experience:
Department - specific certification requirements must be achieved within the first year of employment.
