We are currently seeking an experienced and patient-focused Pre/Post Operative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team. This position is ideal for an RN who enjoys working in a fast-paced outpatient setting and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care before and after surgery. Position Summary The Pre/Post Operative RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures. Responsibilities include preoperative assessment and preparation, postoperative recovery and monitoring, patient education, discharge planning, and collaboration with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other clinical staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform preoperative patient assessments and documentation. Verify patient history, medications, allergies, and surgical consents. Prepare patients for surgery and provide preoperative education. Monitor and assess patients during Phase I and Phase II recovery. Administer medications and treatments as ordered. Evaluate patient recovery status and identify potential complications. Provide postoperative instructions to patients and caregivers. Coordinate discharge planning and ensure safe patient transitions. Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary team. Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Qualifications Required Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state licensure. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. ACLS and PALS required within 30 days of hire. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical, perioperative, PACU, critical care, emergency department, or similar acute care setting. Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills. Preferred Previous ambulatory surgery center, PACU, Same-Day Surgery, or perioperative nursing experience. Experience with ENT surgical procedures. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
