1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 18 months of PCU experience and a NC or compact RN license. Details Work in a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit within a Level 3 Trauma, Certified Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center hospital Patient population includes CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain workup, stroke, abdominal illness/infection, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and IVDA cases not requiring mechanical ventilation RN to patient ratio is typically 1:4, with possible increase to 1:5 depending on acuity 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900-0700, totaling 36 hours per week Weekend rotation required every other weekend Possibility of low census call-back, up to 3am for night shift Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, and Central Division facilities including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed within scope of practice Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors Support staff includes CNAs, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, and 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage Daytime receptionist/HUC support available Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 18 months of PCU RN experience required Most recent clinical experience within the last year required Experience with trach care, cardiac drip management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, and central line management required
