Environment South Central Health is licensed for 24 general and acute care hospital beds. The Nursing Department employs adequate staff to deliver safe and adequate care for its medical/surgical, coronary care, and emergency units. Duties Makes regular rounds to observe patient condition and vital signs, to assess findings, plan patient nursing care, and to record pertinent information. Assists with all aspects of patient care as the need arises.

This includes:

(1) preparing, administering, and charting medication and treatments according to physicians' orders and established procedures, (2) administering routine, scheduled, and emergency nursing treatments according to physicians' orders, and (3) assisting with daily living care of the patients. This position conducts orientation for new patients and their families and notifies family members, physicians, and other appropriate individuals according to established procedure when there are changes in patient conditions. Supervise the shift activities of the nursing department assuring those established procedures and standards are followed promptly, efficiently, and with accuracy. Continually evaluates and adjusts patient care, staff relations, and general floor service to maintain optimal functioning. Provides direct patient care in accordance with facility and department policies and procedures. Actions are to be consistent with currently accepted standards of practice. Nursing activities also include assisting in the implementation of regimens established by other health care disciplines. This position formulates and implements a formal discharge plan based on patient needs, goals, and available resources. Makes staffing adjustments as necessary to meet patient care needs while remaining supportive to departmental budgetary goals. This position evaluates staff members' training, orientation needs, and works to fulfill those needs. He/she may also perform specialized supervisory or patient care activities as determined by the needs of the nursing unit. Requirements Valid RN license in the applicable state or jurisdiction with current CPR/BLS certification. Work may be physical with lifting and bending a requirement of the job. Several hours of continuous footwork may be expected. Rotating shift work is required with this position. This will include work on holidays and weekends. Repetitive motion and close eye work required with charting. Must have skills in supervision and leadership; be able to direct the work of others; maintain accurate records; effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; and carry out effectively the nursing process. 12 hour shifts 7:00am - 7:00pm Every 3rd weekend Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to providing compassionate healthcare that transforms lives!

$36.05 - $45.46 per hour
