The Perioperative Circulating Nurse will practice in a welcoming small community hospital that provides personalized care across the perioperative continuum. Surgical services include preoperative assessment, intraoperative circulating duties, post-anesthesia recovery, and discharge education. The intimate hospital setting allows the Perioperative Circulating Nurse to build strong relationships with patients, families, surgeons, and colleagues. Two Modern operating rooms and PACU resources support safe, efficient procedures while preserving the close-knit atmosphere of community healthcare. This position requires an accredited nursing degree, an active Registered Nurse license, and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, while CNOR and prior OR or PACU experience are preferred.

The Surgical Services RN will report to the OR RN Supervisor and receive support from friendly nurses, surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and a diverse team of healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include completing preoperative assessments, verifying consent and surgical sites, coordinating time-outs, monitoring sterile technique, managing specimens and implants, supporting safe positioning, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. PACU responsibilities include monitoring airway and vital signs, managing pain and nausea, recognizing postoperative complications, providing education, and evaluating discharge readiness. The Surgical Services RN will also participate in emergency response, quality improvement, and assigned night, weekend, and holiday call coverage.
