Overview Join our dynamic team as a contracted / Per diem School Registered Nurse (RN), where you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well being of students. This energetic position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care within a school environment, ensuring students receive timely medical attention, health education, and support to foster a safe and healthy learning atmosphere. Your expertise will help bridge healthcare and education, making a meaningful difference in students' lives every day. Responsibilities Assess student health needs through thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physiological evaluations to determine appropriate care actions. Administer medications, injections, and first aid treatments in accordance with medical orders and school policies, ensuring medication administration safety and accuracy. Maintain detailed medical documentation and manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and safeguarding patient confidentiality. Respond swiftly to medical emergencies using
CPR, AED
operation, and acute care procedures, coordinating with emergency services when necessary. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student health concerns, treatment plans, and health education initiatives. Conduct health screenings, immunizations, and health education sessions to promote wellness and disease prevention among students. Ensure compliance with all health regulations, nursing policy standards, and State Board of Nursing practices while maintaining a safe clinic environment. Qualifications Valid RN license issued by the State Board of Nursing with current licensure to practice nursing in a school setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infectious disease care, and emergency medical response protocols including CPR and AED operation Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and interprofessional collaboration within a school healthcare team. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to handle manual tasks such as manual handling of patients or equipment safely while adhering to health regulations compliance standards. Prior school clinic experience is desirable but not required ,experience in pediatrics or outpatient settings is advantageous. $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
