Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a difference this summer by supporting students during Extended School Year (ESY) programming! A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) with school-based experience, located near Salem, NH. This is an excellent position for an RN who enjoys the unique blend of school nursing, autonomy, and collaboration with educational staff. You'll provide direct healthcare to students on-site during ESY sessions at both elementary and high school levels. The schedule includes various dates in July and early August, providing flexibility for those seeking summer employment.
Ideal Background:
Current, unrestricted RN license in New Hampshire (or compact eligibility) Prior experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric setting Knowledge of school health protocols and compliance with state regulations Current CPR and First Aid certification Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude Experience working with diverse student populations and students with IEPs a plus
Role Overview:
Deliver health services to students attending ESY sessions (details below) Manage medications, attend to injuries, and respond to health-related emergencies Maintain health records per district policy and uphold student confidentiality Support a safe school environment by monitoring and reporting health concerns Consult with educators, families, and special education teams as needed
Schedule:
July 6-9, 8am-2pm at high school July 14-18, 8am-2pm at elementary and high school July 22-24, 8am-2pm at high school July 28-31, 8am-2pm at elementary school August 4-6, 8am-12pm at elementary school This summer assignment offers valuable experience in a dynamic, rewarding setting with a supportive educational team.
