This contract position is ideal for passionate healthcare professionals who thrive in a school environment and want to provide specialized care. Youll be working closely with a medically fragile student who requires comprehensive nursing support to manage diabetes throughout the school day.

Qualifications:

Active RN or LPN/LVN license required Experience in pediatric or school nursing strongly preferred Comfortable with diabetes management, including monitoring glucose and administering insulin Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other healthcare providers CPR certification and current immunizations a must Compassionate, attentive, and able to adapt care to individual student needs

Role Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one care for a student with complex health needs, focusing on diabetes management Monitor blood glucose levels, administer insulin as needed, and document all interventions Respond promptly to any medical emergencies or changes in the students condition Communicate routinely with teachers, school staff, and family to support educational and health goals Promote a safe and supportive environment for the student to participate fully in classroom activities Educate staff and peers as needed about the student's condition and care requirements As part of this unique opportunity, youll build a strong, trusting relationship with your student while playing a vital part in making their school experience safe and successful.
