A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. Job Description

Role:
The Nursing Simulation Coordinator's role is to improve simulation experiences for nursing students due to limited clinical experiences available in six acute care facilities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the preparation, maintenance, inventory and operation of all simulation equipment/supplies and collaborates with faculty to design, plan, and implement simulation activities. Ensures adherence to program policies, student learning outcomes and current simulation best practice and safety measures. Maintains schedule for simulation experiences for both nursing programs. Ensures adequate provisions of supplies to meet simulation demands. Reinforces clinical skills using an evidence-based approach that promotes an optimal learning environment. Supports lab specialist and faculty during the planning and running of simulation events preparing, applications, props placement, and moulage set up to create a realistic healthcare setting. Physical set up and take down of a variety of healthcare simulation manikins and clinical lab environments with extreme attention to detail as assigned. Provides technical support related to simulation-based products to faculty, staff, and students including trouble-shooting problems, instructing on proper use, and facilitating vendor repairs when necessary. Assists with debriefing as necessary. Records data related to use and effectiveness of simulation. Other duties, as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Nursing experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Must have a valid New Jersey Nursing License. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing required Interpersonal Skills Easily builds rapport with nursing students. Technical Skills Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office products. Other Skills Ability to maintain records. Physical Requirements The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
