Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes. Registered Nurse (RN) (Per Diem)
HOURS:
This is a per diem position. Weekdays 8:30am-4:30pm•Flexible weekday schedule. No weekends or Holidays
JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the registered nurse is to oversee the provision of medical care to the clients of DPD to ensure that they receive the highest quality of care and to educate staff to understand individual medical needs to work effectively with each resident. The nurse will insure effective implementation of health promotion and prevention practices, management of acute and chronic illnesses, and attainment of optimal levels of functioning and/or support of the client and significant others. The nurse will cooperate with agency's administration and/or Division and DHS staff in any inspection or investigation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Nursing, NJ State Nursing License. Minimum two years in successful nursing practice, certified American Red Cross FA and CPR trainer preferred. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective communication and interpersonal relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team, clients, families, visitors and staff. Previous experience treating people with developmental disabilities preferred. Must have a driver's license, which is valid in the State of New Jersey. This position requires the use of agency vehicles when traveling to various locations to conduct agency business. Knowledge of and proficiency with computer programs is required. The Registered Nurse must have a physical exam including a mantoux and drug test prior to employment. Must meet fingerprint and drug test requirements.
