You will provide direct nursing care to Veterans on an adult med-surg unit under a temporary nurse staffing contract. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care for adult med-surg patients Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments per provider orders Document care in the VA electronic health record Coordinate with physicians, LPNs, nursing assistants and interdisciplinary teams Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge needs Recognize changes in condition and respond to emergencies Qualifications & Experience Current, full, active and unrestricted RN license in a U.S. state or territory Current BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred Minimum 1 year of recent acute-care Medical/Surgical RN experience Able to pass a federal background check, drug screen and VA credentialing Proof of required immunizations and TB screening Compensation Local rate: $54.81-$59.00/hour, depending on experience and certifications Per diems may be applicable for candidates who live more than 50 miles from the facility.
