Job Description

Overview:
Are you an ambitious, compassionate RN looking to bring your nursing excellence to a premier, award-winning surgical team? As a Per Diem Registered Nurse at Atlantic Surgery Center, you'll deliver exceptional pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care in our state-of-the-art outpatient facility. Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive patient care across pre-operative, circulating, and post-operative (PACU) phases of ophthalmic, oculoplastic, and corneal surgical procedures. Prepare patients for surgery, including pre-op assessments, verifying surgical site and documentation, and administering prescribed medications. Serve as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile fields, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring patient safety. Monitor and manage patient recovery post-surgery, providing post-operative instructions to patients and their escorts. Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, infection control, and ASC regulatory standards. Collaborate seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical staff to ensure efficient, high-quality patient flow and room turnover.
Facility Description:
The award-winning Atlantic Surgery Center (ASC) is a busy single-operating room (OR) outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center specializing in ophthalmic procedures, including cataract, corneal, and oculoplastic surgery. Due to continued growth, the center is expanding to a two-OR facility within the next year.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Active NJ Nursing License.
BLS, ACLS. IV
skillset. Ophthalmic surgical experience preferred.
