This position focuses on providing 1:1 care for a medically fragile student with diabetes, ensuring their well-being and success throughout the school day. Key Qualifications:

Active RN or LPN/LVN license, valid for school-based practice Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred Knowledge of diabetes management, including glucose monitoring and insulin administration CPR certification required Ability to remain attentive, compassionate, and calm in medical situations Strong communication and documentation skills Dedication to collaborating with educators, families, and healthcare providers

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored 1:1 nursing support for a student with diabetes throughout the school day Monitor blood glucose, administer insulin as prescribed, and provide emergency care as needed Collaborate with teachers, staff, and the students family for effective care planning Document all care activities, interventions, and observations accurately Educate school staff and the students peers about diabetes management as appropriate Participate in individualized educational plan (IEP) or 504 meetings as required Maintain the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism This contract role is ideal for a nurse passionate about making a difference in a childs educational journey, and who thrives in dynamic, supportive school environments.
