Hiring Range:
$43.50 - $63.25 Hourly Req # 79963 Bachelors degree is required Position Summary Provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance. Float Nurse I will have skills and competencies for medical surgical nursing to take a patient assignment Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Facilitate and Coordinate Total Patient Care 2. Documentation of Care 3. Maintain Professional Development 4. Education of patient and family 5. Patient Advocate 6. Maintain Patient Safety 7. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Education:
Required:
All hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing OR if Associates Degree or Diploma, RN must provide proof of enrollment in a BSN program prior to hire, be continuously enrolled and complete within 5 years of hire date or internal RN promotion date. Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
RN experience preferably acute care experience Float RN I requires 1 year med surge experience
Preferred:
2 or more years RN experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
Current NJ RN licensure American Heart Association CPR certification ACLS within 6 months of hire Telemetry experience or HMC class required CPI training is required and must be renewed annually Must obtain CPI certification within 6 months of hire/transfe
Preferred:
Certification in specialty Knowledge, Skills and/or
Abilities:
Required:
Must pass annual clinical competency based program and mandated in-service education. Unit specific skills may include but not limited to IV therapy, basic arrhythmia interpretation, conscious sedation, Bi-Pap/CPAP and EndTidal CO2. Skills will be determined by a challenge exam and/or skill performance or by completion of a Staff Development course. Must be cross trained by specialty: - Inpatient Unit RN float requires cross training for medical/surgical unit, surgical unit, intermediate care unit, cardiac unit, emergency department, pediatrics, maternity and child care center (MNCC) and critical care. Appropriate patient assignment based on cross training completion. - Procedure Unit RN float requires cross training for Radiology/Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab Procedure Care Unit, Endoscopy pre and post procedure care.
