Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive pediatric care, focusing on promoting healthy growth and development for children of all ages. Your expertise will support families through preventive care, acute illness management, chronic condition oversight, and health education. Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess vital signs to evaluate the health status of pediatric patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and urgent care centers. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses in children, utilizing advanced clinical skills and evidence-based practices. Administer immunizations, medications, and injections with precision while educating families on treatment plans and health maintenance strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, coordinate referrals for specialized services such as gastroenterology or behavioral health, and participate in discharge planning. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform procedures such as suturing, venipuncture, IV insertions, spinal taps, catheterizations, and sterile processing techniques when necessary. Engage in telehealth consultations to extend pediatric care beyond traditional settings, providing accessible support for families remotely. Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from an accredited program. Valid state licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner with pediatric specialization. Demonstrated experience working with children in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, or assisted living facilities. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic and Athenahealth; familiarity with medical documentation standards like
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding is preferred. Strong clinical skills in performing physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, medication administration, and patient assessment. Experience managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, or behavioral health is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures such as tube feeding management, gastrostomy care, or neonatal ventilator support is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to educate families effectively while collaborating with healthcare teams across specialties like gastroenterology, emergency medicine, or critical care.
