Responsibilities Assess and monitor students' health status by taking vital signs, performing physical assessments, and maintaining accurate medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Administer medications, injections, and treatments following state Nursing Practice Acts, medical policies, and health regulations compliance standards. Respond promptly to medical emergencies with first aid, CPR, AED operation, and acute care procedures to stabilize students until further medical assistance arrives. Conduct health screenings such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis checks; coordinate referrals for specialized care when necessary. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans that support student needs. Maintain confidentiality of all student health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and school policies. Collaborate with school staff on health education initiatives and promote wellness programs that enhance overall student health and safety. Qualifications Valid license from the State Board of Nursing with current registration in good standing; familiarity with State Nursing Practice Acts. Proven experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or Level I/II trauma center settings; PICU or inpatient experience preferred. Strong knowledge of pediatrics, physiology, anatomy, infectious disease care, and emergency response protocols. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care and medical records management. Certified in basic life support (BLS), CPR, AED operation, first aid, IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and injection techniques. Experience working in school clinics or pediatric outpatient settings is highly desirable; familiarity with school health policies is a plus. Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and interprofessional collaboration; ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
