Gifted Healthcare seeks experienced Stepdown RNs for travel or local contracts in Morristown, NJ. In this role you'll deliver high-quality care to acutely ill, clinically stable patients transitioning from ICU or med-surg. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, complex assessments, titrating IV medications, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and educating patients and families. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to stepdown/progressive care patients in a hospital setting Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient status, escalating changes promptly Administer and titrate IV medications, fluids, and other therapies per provider orders and protocols Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and document accurately in the EHRCollaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other team members to coordinate care and safe transitions Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and discharge instructions to support recovery Maintain strict infection control, medication safety, and patient safety standards Adapt to varying hospital settings and workflows as a travel or local contract nurse, demonstrating professionalism and flexibility Required Skills Stepdown / progressive care nursing Cardiac rhythm interpretation IV therapy and titration Ventilator and respiratory support monitoring (non-ICU) Wound care and post-op management Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Care coordination and discharge planning Patient and family education Infection control practices Emergency response and escalation
