1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level
III NICU
position requiring documented NICU III and PICU skills experience. Details Based in a Level
III NICU
with float responsibilities to PICU, PEDS, and Mother/Baby (excluding maternal care) Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM 37.5 hours per week with every other weekend (Sat/Sun) required Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 designated holidays Patient assignments based on clinician skill set with ratios varying by acuity Neonatal patient population including infants less than 24-28 weeks gestation Uses Epic charting system Navy pants and Peds top scrub color required Requirements Active NJ or Compact RN license required BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP highly preferred Minimum 1.5 years of NICU experience required Documented NICU III and PICU skills experience required in employment history Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central/implanted line care, UAC/UVC management, dysrhythmia interpretation, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and neonatal abstinence syndrome care Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement/management required Experience administering IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants required Isolation precautions and PPE competency required Additional Information Provide direct patient care in NICU with float coverage to PICU, PEDS, and Mother/Baby units as needed First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former RWJBH employees (FT or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers Open or active background/license hits are not accepted Clinicians who fail competency exams must wait 6 months before reapplying
