Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse specializing in surgical care to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal recovery. Your expertise will support preoperative preparations, intraoperative assistance, and postoperative management, contributing to positive patient outcomes. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to surgery, including vital signs, medical history review, and physiological evaluations. Prepare patients for surgery by explaining procedures, ensuring consent is obtained, and verifying adherence to aseptic techniques. Assist surgical teams during procedures by managing sterile fields and handling surgical instruments with precision. Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses during surgery using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, like SIS. Administer medications including IV infusions and start IVs for patients. Provide postoperative care by assessing recovery progress, managing pain through advanced pain management techniques, and educating patients on discharge instructions. Maintain meticulous medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital standards while utilizing EMR/EHR systems like SIS. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or region. Proven experience in surgical nursing, preferred OR experience or working within an outpatient surgery center setting. Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, wound suturing, catheterization, and IV insertion procedures. Experience with medical imaging procedures like sonography. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as SIS. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations including emergency medicine and trauma medicine settings.
