Responsibilities Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations specific to vascular conditions. Assist with and monitor vascular procedures such as catheterizations, suturing, and wound care, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety. Administer medications including IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, and pain management interventions tailored to vascular patients. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, and medical records management. Conduct triage assessments for urgent vascular issues, prioritizing care and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across hospital medicine, ICU, trauma centers, or outpatient clinics. Educate patients on vascular health management, post-procedure care, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term wellness. Collaborate with physicians and specialists in cardiology, infectious disease care, or geriatrics to develop comprehensive treatment plans aligned with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements. Experience Proven experience working as a registered nurse in vascular or related specialties such as cardiology, ICU, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic and Cerner; experience with medical documentation and medical records management. Strong background in performing invasive procedures such as catheterization, venipuncture (venipuncture), IV insertion/injection administration, and sterile processing techniques. Critical care experience preferred, especially in Level I or Level II trauma centers or acute care environments involving trauma medicine or emergency response procedures. Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation tools including laboratory experience, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding practices, and laboratory specimen collection/processing. Familiarity with advanced nursing skills such as airway management, ventilator support, ostomy care, wound suturing (suturing), and infection control protocols. Experience working with diverse patient populations including individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; knowledge of geriatrics and memory care is advantageous.
