Job Description
Must hold a valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license As part of the School Nurse Certification, trained in airway management and in the use of nebulizers and inhalers consistent with nationally recognized standards. Knowledge of child growth and development, current health issues and wellness education. Knowledge of community health and social services' resources and an ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals and social service agencies. Ability to exhibit professionalism and confidentiality. Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records. Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. Trained in CPR and First Aid. Trained in administration of inhaler, nebulizers, epipen, insulin and other medications as needed. Able to conduct health screenings. Effectively communicate with school personnel, families, and other healthcare providers. Maintain immunization records and promote vaccination compliance. Provide health related education to staff and students.
