What they do
A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license (required)
- Current BLS and ACLS (required)
- Minimum of 2 years perioperative experience in an outpatient surgery center setting
- Flexibility to work Saturday rotation (required)
- Orthopedic experience (a plus)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with all healthcare team members in delivering evidence-based care to patients.
- Applies the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Performs other related duties as assigned including but not limited to performing as a Circulating, Pre-Op, Endoscopy, and PACU RN, as needed.
- Administers medications accurately and in accordance with the restrictions and limitations set by the New Jersey State Practice Act and the Center's policies and procedures.
- Maintains required competencies.
- Participates in continuing education.
