1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night-shift position requiring an active NJ or compact RN license and prior stepdown-level experience. Details Work in a Stepdown/PCU/DOU/IMC unit Patient ratio of 1:4 Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7a) Every other weekend required (Fri, Sat, Sun) Floating required to similar units within scope of practice No on-call responsibilities 1 holiday shift required 13-week assignment length Uses EPIC charting system Requirements Active NJ or compact RN license required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting required Prior travel nursing experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
EPIC EMR
experience required Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry (on-unit and remote) Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy, and ventilated patients Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and use of rapid response/code teams Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred Must pass required clinical competency exam (up to 3 attempts) for clearance Valid references and certification copies required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care for stepdown-level patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions Support cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal patient populations Local candidates accepted at a different pay rate within a 50-mile radius RTO must be submitted prior to consideration; no additional time off accepted after submission Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing PA fingerprinting required within 1 week of signing, which may involve travel over 100 miles First-time travelers may not be considered due to required travel experience
