Job Description

Registered Nurse
REPORTS TO
Registered Nurse Supervisor You must have a valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the State of New Mexico.
  • Maintain an unrestricted nursing license throughout employment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Must be willing to participate in pre-employment screening and drug screening.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS preferred).
  • Experience working with Substance Use Disorders and/or Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders preferred.
  • Must be available to work on-site Monday-Thursday 6pm-10pm

Understands Substance Use Disorders and recognizes the complex medical, psychological, and social context of substance abuse. Demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring mental health disorders and their impact on treatment outcomes. Practices culturally competent, trauma‑informed nursing care tailored to individuals and families. 2. Clinical Skills Needed for
Position:
Possesses strong knowledge of general medical and nursing conditions, including assessment, intervention, and monitoring. Utilizes healthcare delivery systems effectively, including patient and family education. Apply evidence-based nursing practice and demonstrate working knowledge of ethical principles in nursing care delivery. 3.
Person-centered Plan Development :
Applies person-centered planning when delivering individualized nursing care. Demonstrates working knowledge of medical conditions and nursing considerations related to age, gender, race, and ethnicity based on current standards of practice and literature.
This knowledge includes:
a. Epidemiology of disorders b. Etiology, including medical, genetic, and sociocultural factors c. Clinical presentation and symptomatology d. Impact of physical illness on patient functioning e. Patient and family experience of illness, including cultural influences f. Evidence-based nursing interventions and treatment strategies g. Expected course and prognosis 4.
Interviewing Skills:
Demonstrates effective patient interviewing and assessment skills to obtain comprehensive medical histories, current symptoms, medication adherence, and identify physical, emotional, and behavioral risk factors. 5.
Evidence Based Practices:
Demonstrates knowledge and application of evidence-based nursing practices to assess, implement, evaluate, and adjust nursing interventions for individuals under care. 6.
Clinical Risk Factors:
Ability to assess, document, and respond to patient safety risks, including risk of self-harm or harm to others.
This includes:
a. Conducting risk assessments b. Knowledge of involuntary treatment standards and emergency procedures c. Intervening effectively to reduce risk d. Implementing prevention strategies in a trauma‑informed manner
Position Duties:
1. Review patient medical records, nursing assessments, and histories; obtain collateral information as needed from families and treatment team members. 2. Perform comprehensive nursing assessments including physical, emotional, behavioral, and mental health indicator. 3. Provide direct nursing care and health monitoring for clients receiving treatment, including preventative and primary nursing care. 4. Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions, and document appropriately. 5. Collect specimens, perform or assist with ordered clinical procedures, and monitor laboratory results as directed. 6. Respond to patient medical concerns through assessment, nursing intervention, education, and referral to medical providers as necessary. 7. Collaborate closely with Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Medical Assistants, and other clinical staff. 8. Educate patients on medications, health conditions, wellness, and discharge planning. 9. Coordinate care and communicate with healthcare professionals during transfers, hospitalization, or specialty referrals. 10. Maintain current nursing knowledge through continuing education and professional development. 11. Participate actively in the Multi‑Disciplinary Team, implementing evidence-based treatment plans and documenting nursing contributions.

  • Maintains in-depth nursing knowledge, evidence-based practices, and experience with co‑occurring substance use and mental health disorders. 5. Works cooperatively with internal staff, community partners, and referral sources to coordinate patient services. 6.

  • Produces accurate, timely documentation and patient care.

From $40.00 per hour
