JOB DESCRIPTION/PRIMARY DUTIES OF POSITION
Example:
Answer incoming calls; filing; customer service; etc. Evaluates assigned residents within the nursing home environment and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various resident tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes residents' independence by establishing residents care goals and teaching residents and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relics on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Required to ensure dignity, respect and quality of care is provided to residents by nursing staff at all times. Expected to take disciplinary action if nursing staff does not maintain standards of professional nursing such as: dignity, respect and quality of care for each resident. Graduate from an accredited school or college of nursing required. Current New Mexico license as a Registered Nurse required. Basic Cardiac Life Support is required. At least one year as a clinical nurse in a long term care environment is preferred. Excellent Customer Service skills required. Communication and organizational skills required.
