Staff Development Coordinator (RN) Mountain View Care Center - 3.4 Boulder City, NV Job Details Full-time 19 hours ago Qualifications RN License Full Job Description The Staff Development RN is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that support high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance. This role ensures that all nursing personnel are trained, competent, and compliant with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and best practices within long-term care. Key Responsibilities Education & Training Develops, coordinates, and delivers ongoing staff education, in-service training, and competency evaluations for all clinical staff. Conducts new employee orientation, including mandatory nursing education, skills validation, and regulatory training. Provides training on infection control, emergency preparedness, resident rights, abuse prevention, documentation standards, and facility-specific policies. Identifies staff learning needs and develops tailored education plans. Regulatory Compliance Ensures all required annual and ongoing in-services meet state, federal, and facility compliance standards (e.g., CMS, OSHA, CDC). Maintains detailed training records and competency checklists for survey readiness. Assists in preparing for state surveys and supports the facility during survey activities. Clinical Competency & Quality Assurance Observes nursing staff to ensure proper technique and adherence to care standards. Performs skill validations for nursing procedures (e.g., medication administration, wound care, infection control practices). Collaborates with the DON and interdisciplinary team to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical processes and outcomes. Assists in QAPI programs, audits, and performance improvement initiatives. Onboarding & Professional Development Oversees onboarding and orientation for new nursing staff, ensuring smooth transition into their roles. Provides coaching, mentorship, and continuing professional development opportunities. Supports CNA training programs, preceptor assignments, and required certifications (e.g., CPR). Infection Prevention Support (If combined with infection control responsibilities) Assists with infection control education and monitoring. Supports outbreak management and staff education on prevention protocols. Qualifications Current RN license in good standing (state-specific). Prior long-term care or SNF experience preferred. Experience in staff education, training, or leadership strongly preferred. Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations Ability to teach, mentor, and motivate staff at all skill levels.
